We enjoyed every aspect of our visit here. Thw staff was great as was the ice cream. Old school soda shops like this are not easy to find.

Fun place to stop. Cool off and enjoy some tasty ice cream or a cold phosphate soda.

They were friendly and helpful. I didn't have anything there though so not giving 5 stars. They didn't serve anything I can eat.

Adorable setting, delicious ice cream. It was a great way to wrap up a visit to the Presidential Library

Really cute old soda fountain, where Harry Truman had his first job. Nice tin ceiling and wooden counter in the front half (back half very generic with white acoustic tile--why not do the whole little store?). They serve all the soda fountain staples, plus bagged candy and coffees.

Old-time soda fountain style shop: fun candies trinkets, toys and t-shirts. And did I mention the delicious ice cream? Nostalgic, cute and clean. If you're on the neighborhood, stop by for a treat!

The girls working today were doing an outstanding job! They should be proud of their hardwork and ability to stay calm under pressure!
Ron Willard
Ice cream served up old fashioned style. In glass dishes, even malts available.
Keith Warden
Great little ice cream and soda shop, friendly people as well.

This is an interesting place to get a treat and just hang out. Service was pretty good. There was an incident when they ran out of waffle cone mixture for the waffle cones. They finally gave back the money owed to my dad.

Adorable local ice cream shop.

I love this place. The sundaes are so freakin' tasty, and the employees are nice. :D

Very humble little shop. They don't price gauge you either. You'll be pleased.

Nice little place in downtown Independence. Bit far for most people in the metro. Other than that, I would recommend this place. Shake I got wasn't too bad.
Michael Kirsch
An awesome rootbeer float on a hot summer day! It was quite refreshing and tasteful! I recommend popping in.
Glenn Coleman
Charming and old-fashioned, with great phosphates and ice cream.

It's a cute little soda fountain, but we go there for the ice cream! Also, if you're looking for local souvenirs, this is the place for you. Prices are about standard. Old fashioned candies available. It's been there a long time for a reason.

Great place for a date. Ice Cream sundae and milkshake was delicious. Has a lot of fun candy inside to buy as well. And walking around the town square was enjoyable.

Tasty treats in a beautifully preserved shop! Staff is helpful and friendly! Large choice of treats from ice cream, phosphates, and edible cookie doughs, as well as lots of great candy choices!

Good place where Harry S. Truman once worked. Delicious ice cream products and old-fashioned "phosphates " (soda mixed the old-fashioned way, by hand, in house).

Fabulous ice cream creations, old school fountain sodas, loads of history and a young and knowledgeable staff. Very friendly as well. Little slice of heaven on the Independence Square.

Great ice cream treats and wonderful employees!!

This phosphate soda place has a lot of history. Try the cherry float phosphate it's my favorite. It's ok for lunch, but really this is a dessert/candy store. If you are touring Independence then you must stop here for a taste of the past. It's not named after Bill, but Clinton visited here. Harry Truman worked here when it was a different store. Souvenirs are sold here as well.

Stepping inside Clinton's Soda Fountain shop is like stepping back in time. Fun for kids! Barrels of candy and a sweet fountain set up. If you have a few minutes to sit back and order an old fashioned phosphate soda I highly recommend you stop here. Pretty good ice cream too.

Quaint little ice cream shop right on the independence square. Root beer floats are super. They have souvenirs as well for their shop as well as Harry Truman. A but pricey though.

I really only stopped in for Truman but was pleasantly surprised. The ice cream they serve is delicious. I'd recommend splitting a sundae with someone as they are pretty large.

Great ending to an anniversary celebration.

Girls behind the counter were friendly. I had a nutty sundae, and it was really good.

After looking at reviews and photos from the shop, I had expectations of excellent service and pretty sundaes served in glasses. What I experienced was mediocre service from girls who obviously wanted to be anywhere but behind the counter, and overpriced, incorrectly-made sundaes served in plastic cups.

Really enjoyable! Family loved everything they got

Love this place. The Ladies behind the counter were very polite and informative about the Square area.Very nice old style soda fountain.

I like the vintage setup and the history behind this place. Their floats are good, italian sodas are pretty good but the edible cookie dough is TERRIBLE...like legit gross. I feel their prices are high for what they offer...if it was in house made ice cream it would he worth the price...but sadly, its not. Its great if your up on the square and want a sweet treat...but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there.

Has the best icecream ever! Plus, of course, Polly's Pop. Which is incredible!

I always have a good experience here. It's a great place to meet up with friends and just chill out

Quaint independence soda fountain with history and very generous portions. Gotta try their cake shakes!
Kent Seaton
Rustic and full of the early era before rockabilly. The ice cream was really good but I think it needed more flavor selection.

THe Γ’β¬ΕlargeΓ’β¬Β shake was absurdly small. They split it into two cups for us, which was nice, but it was like a shot each. Even when we asked to verify this was really right they just started at us and shrugged. Biggest waste of $7.

Awesome place, our girls 17 and 10 thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Janice Johnson
You can't find an ice cream soda these days they make a pretty good one here.

I got a butter Carmel pecan shake delicious!

I had heard so much about this shop that I guess I had really high expectations. We ordered a shake and a sundae and both were pretty small and served in little plastic cups. I guess at those prices ($12 for both) I thought they might be served in a glass dish and milkshake glass that would be larger. Minor detail, but for a shop that is going for the old fashioned feel and look, it was just odd to get them that way. Also thought we could sit at the bar but there's no seating there. The ice cream was good but I think the one visit will do.
Michael Jaume
Awesome service, great ice cream, delicious phosphate sodas. Really makes you feel as if you walked back in time to when the simple things really are better than the store bought stuff.

I like Clinton's soda fountain, but I haven't been very far back in the shop at all. Everything I need is right there by the entrance - that being the sweets. I've never not enjoyed the food I got there, and I especially like the edible cookie dough. The sundaes are a little pricey for what you get. I've always been a little confused why the area at and behind the bar seems so bare-bones. There doesn't seem to be a lot of storage space, so things are just left on countertops. There isn't really any character to the front of the shop like there is in the back, and I'd like to see a facelift someday. I'd also really like to see more soda-fountainyness for a place with that in the name.

Cool, old fashioned soda fountain. Great place to visit.

Fun place. Like taking a trip back in time. Fun to show my granddaughters what a real soda bar and ice cream shop looked like.
Jasen Thomas
Great place with amazing drinks and sundaes.
